How Tim handles your data.

1. Data we process

• Server messages Tim responds to. When Tim replies in your server, the recent channel messages around the trigger are sent to the AI provider you connected (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or your own endpoint) so it can generate a reply. We do not choose or control that provider — your server admin does.
• Learning memories. Durable facts Tim learns (about chatters, server lore, jokes) are stored per server in our database. Anyone in the server can ask Tim what it remembers, and memories can be deleted anytime with /tim forget or from the dashboard.
• Per-server configuration. Your AI provider choice, model name, filter settings, personality settings, and channel lists. Your API key is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and is never displayed again after you save it.
• Usage counters. Counts of AI replies and estimated tokens per server, so admins can see what their key is spending.

2. What we never do

• We never sell your data — no messages, no memories, no user lists — to anyone.
• We never use your server's messages or your API key for anything except operating Tim in your server.
• We never show your API key to anyone, including other server admins — only the person who pastes it can replace it.

3. Data retention and deletion

Memories and configuration persist until you delete them. Use /tim forget (your own or, as a moderator, anyone's), the dashboard memory editor, or email Shane.GopherGo@gmail.com and we will delete your server's data and confirm once it's done.

4. Who sees what

Tim's dashboard requires Discord sign-in and only shows servers where you have the Manage Server permission. AI settings pages additionally require you to be able to manage the server; API keys are write-only.

5. Children

Tim is not directed at children under 13, and Discord's own terms already require users to be at least 13.

6. Changes

We may update this policy as Tim evolves. Significant changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date below.
